In Practice

For the California Department of Public Health, Deborah led the development of a statewide preparedness training program designed to help hospitals respond to chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and explosive mass-casualty events. At Disney Parks & Resorts, Deborah led the development of a global crisis management and response program and helped pioneer one of the earliest enterprise-level issues management capabilities of its kind. Designed to identify emerging risks and address them before they escalated, the initiative created a structured approach for aligning decision-makers, assessing issues, and coordinating response efforts across a complex global organization. Deborah also developed a Crisis Communications Activation Framework and Playbook that helped translate planning into action, providing leaders with a practical roadmap for communication and decision-making during critical events.
